BMW Group is establishing a new Global Logistics Center near Ostrava – a strategic hub that will play a key role in supplying BMW plants worldwide.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Launch Lead Specialist (m/f/d) to coordinate logistics and project activities related to new product launches and supply chain transitions. This role combines process management, cross-functional coordination, and compliance oversight, including responsibility for Dangerous Goods processes and documentation.

You will start your journey with training in Germany, gaining hands-on experience and insight into BMW’s global logistics and launch management standards. Back in Ostrava, you will be part of the core team driving the successful launch and further development of the new logistics center.

You will

• Act as the primary contact for launch-related topics between the Ostrava site, BMW central teams, and logistics providers.
• Coordinate all phases of project launches, part runouts, and transitions to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Monitor and report launch progress, maintain project plans, and proactively escalate issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Evaluate logistics processes and identify optimization opportunities to meet performance and safety KPIs.
• Oversee the correct handling, packaging, and shipping of Dangerous Goods, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
• Support documentation, process standardization, and cross-functional communication with Quality, IT, and Operations.
• Conduct or coordinate training sessions for employees handling hazardous materials.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (CIP) to enhance efficiency, safety, and data accuracy.

What you bring

• University degree or comparable professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or project coordination, ideally within an automotive or production environment.
• Knowledge of packaging concepts and Dangerous Goods regulations is an advantage.
• Experience in Lean Management or Value-Oriented Production Systems (WPS) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; SAP experience is a plus.
• Fluent English and Czech or Slovak; German language skills are an advantage.
• Openness to travel to Germany for onboarding and training.
