ABOUT US:

SmithNovak develops high quality international conferences for the European Financial Services sector with leading events in London, Madrid, Frankfurt and more.

THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the production and management of international conferences including; research, content production, securing speakers, sales, project management and on-stage attendance. Office-based only.

Note: our product is PEOPLE - people attend conferences, and as such, this role includes significant communication on a daily basis with our clients and potential speakers.

KEY TASKS:

• Finding and inviting (by email, telephone and LinkedIn) senior level executives to attend our Conferences
• Managing, preparing and liaising with Speakers to ensure they are fully engaged with our events
• Selling delegate tickets and sponsorship packages
• Writing programmes and other content
• Being ‘on stage’ at events to ensure sessions run smoothly

THE CANDIDATE:

We are looking for a self-confident and sociable 'people-person' with excellent organisation and communication skills who enjoys researching new topics and interacting with clients.

Finding, inviting and securing high-level Speakers is not easy and requires drive, perseverance, a proactive approach, and relationship-building skills.

Specific skills & experience required

• Advanced/native level English skills: verbal & written
• A University degree
• At least 5-10 years’ experience in a similar or commercial role involving contact with external customers
• Experience in event management, recruitment, purchasing or sales would be advantageous

• A confident telephone user: comfortable calling and talking to anyone, anywhere

WHAT WE OFFER:

We offer a good basic salary with significant sales-related commissions and the opportunity to become a key figure in a growing team. Our events take place around Europe and you will have the opportunity to travel 3-4 times per year to some of the most exciting cities in Europe.
