Junior ESG Consultant
Role Description
We are seeking a motivated Junior ESG Consultant to join our team of Consultants in Ostrava, Czechia. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our industrial clients with their ESG reporting schemes. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. The role will directly support our ESG Consultancy team in Ostrava and a larger team of Consultants and Engineers delivering services across the CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) Region.
Responsibilities
- CSRD Reporting: Assist in preparing and submitting reports in compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for industrial clients.
- GHG Footprint Calculations: Conduct greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint calculations in accordance with the GHG Protocol, including data collection and emissions factor application.
- Taxonomy statements: Assist with statements for sustainable economic activities in accordance with the article No. 8 of Taxonomy Directive
- Life Cycle Assessments of products (LCAs): Assist with the creation of the LCAs for specific product lines.
- Participation in decarbonization studies: Assists and technically participate in technical decarbonization studies, scenario modeling and OPEX & CAPEX modeling.
- Data Management: Maintain and manage databases for tracking GHG emissions and other ESG metrics, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Client Support: Provide technical support and guidance to industrial clients on GHG accounting and CSRD reporting requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulations and standards related to GHG emissions and sustainability reporting.
- Maintaining Business Relations: Our consultants are the primary point of contact with clients, serving as the frontline in fostering and maintaining strong business relationships.
Requirements
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is critical. In particular the ability to read, understand, and apply large amounts of written information from relevant sources. Presenting of outputs might be done in English. Internal communications are done in Czech or English.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s, or Masters degree in Environmental Sciences, HSE (Faculty of Safety Engineering is a plus) or Engineering,
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with the GHG Protocol and CSRD reporting standards, or technical standards (ČSN, ISO). Experience with ESG reporting tools and software is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets. Experience with risk assessments is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data management and reporting.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Adaptability: Willingness to stay updated on the latest ESG trends, frameworks, and best practices.
- PC Skills: Advanced PC user, in particular MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Personal Attributes: Team spirit, client focus, initiative and flexibility, high dedication, and self-motivation.
