Role Overview: Packaging Engineer

As a Packaging Engineer at Hill's Pet Nutrition, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing primary and secondary packaging concepts for both existing and innovative new products at our European facilities. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring that our packaging solutions are not only sustainable but also aligned with consumer insights and our supply chain requirements.

What We're Looking For:

• Innovative Collaborator: Work seamlessly across various teams, including Product Development, Marketing, Design, and Supply Chain.
• Flexible Problem Solver: Navigate through different project stages, from identifying opportunities to full commercialization.
• Sustainability Advocate: Understand packaging sustainability concepts and make informed decisions on design and end-of-life considerations.

Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify consumer-centric packaging solutions.
• Explore new packaging concepts and scout external technical solutions.
• Lead packaging development from prototyping to full commercialization.
• Conduct competitor and market benchmarking.
• Prepare and present technical summaries and business impact to leaders.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through collaboration with commercial and operational teams.
• Maintain and improve documentation related to packaging development.

Qualifications:

• Education: BS Degree in Packaging Engineering/Science, Material Science, or a relevant technical field.
• Experience in package development or engineering, preferably in Food and/or FMCG.
• Skills: Proficient in English, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, MS Excel, Cape Pack or similar software, SAP or similar ERP system.
• Have a residence status and/or/ work permit that allows you to work in the Czech Republic now.
