About the manager

Patrik is the team manager leading consulting services and being responsible for the Data Strategy, Management & Ethics team. Patrik studied at University of Kent and dedicated his early career to development of analytics and business intelligence before transitioning to advisory roles. In recent years, Patrik worked with some of Europe's largest organisations: supported an Energy client in the Netherlands; advised a major Retailer in Sweden; and built a strategy for a smart city in Saudi Arabia. Patrik enjoys spending his free time with his family and stays active by trail running and walking his dog, Molly.

Job description & summary

We are seeking an experienced leader to head the Technical Assessment of AI within our regional AI team, driving the strategic initiative of a new business stream – Technical assessment of AI. This role requires visionary, leadership and communication skills, besides the required technical background. Key success factor is the ability to foster collaboration across the BAS CEE network. You will:

  • Lead team(s) performing the technical review, testing, and validation of AI systems to ensure they perform as expected and intended, including:

- Conduct thorough assessments of AI system architectures and designs, identifying potential risks or biases.

- Perform functional, performance, and stress testing to evaluate system efficiency and robustness.

- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of AI system outputs through rigorous validation techniques.

- Oversee compliance checks with industry regulations, ethical guidelines, and data privacy requirements.

  • Develop risk assessment strategies to identify and mitigate potential issues with AI system deployment.
  • Collaborate with PwC Legal on services around Responsible AI regulations, such as the EU AI Act, similar to previous cooperation for GDPR.
  • Engage with local and global start-up scenes, research, and academia to share thought leadership on AI technical assessments.
  • Utilize a technology-first, hands-on approach to deliver practical solutions backed by strong technologies and custom frameworks.

Requirements of the role

  • Technical expertise and experience in Data & AI, with a focus on AI assurance services.
  • In-depth understanding of data and AI architecture, including data pipelines, integration, and the lifecycle of AI models from development to deployment.
  • Proficiency in using AI tools and systems such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks, with the ability to evaluate their performance and ensure they meet business requirements.
  • Knowledge of best practices for AI quality assurance, including implementing strategies for continuous monitoring, error detection, and bias mitigation in AI outputs.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience, the capability to manage multiple projects across EMEA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in engaging with research and academia to drive innovation and thought leadership.
