We have a fantastic opening for a senior H&S professional to take the lead in ensuring safety for one of our key global accounts in Ireland. If you are a strategic safety professional with excellent customer-facing and leadership skills, this is your chance to make a real impact and be part of our dynamic team.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide H&S advice to the senior management team and directors

  • Develop and drive a proactive Health & Safety culture

  • Development of policies and SOPs in collaboration with key stakeholders

  • Complete internal audits, supplier audits and support business units with external ISO accreditation audits (45001/14001)

  • Investigate incidents and accidents with the site management teams and agree actions to reduce risk of incident recurring

  • Liaising with the enforcing authorities in support of the site management teams

  • Support the business in the procurement and selection of contractors 

  • Identify and advocate for best industry practices to drive continuous improvement. 

  • Advise senior management on the implications of current and emerging H&S legislation

  • Monthly reporting and analysis as per Schenker and customer requirements

  • Working with DBS H&S teams, contractors and customers across EMEA

About You:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional with the following qualifications and traits:

  • You should be a Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and possess a professional qualification in occupational health and safety and environmental management -NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent

  • Proven experience in a senior HSE role, preferably within a fast paced, logistics or warehousing environment

  • In-depth technical knowledge of Irish HSE regulations, standards, and best practices with knowledge of EMEA region being highly advantageous

  • Familiarity with 14001 and 45001 ISO Standards

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact and collaborate with diverse stakeholders at different levels

  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop improvement strategies

  • Proficiency with HSE Management systems along with MS Office including MS Excel

  • Flexibility to travel if required
