We are looking for an experienced Strategic Purchaser to join our team and play a key role in our business. Your main responsibility will be to lead the purchasing strategy, ensure high-quality supply chains, and minimize costs.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Maintain supplier delivery performance (monthly, including mitigation, OTIF, quality monitoring, risk management)
- Price optimization (by performing regular benchmarking etc.)
- Responsible for specific commodities (e.g. make parts, electronic parts, or other product groups) – make sure best solutions/suppliers are utilized
- Optimizing working capital (payment terms, inventories)
- Sourcing – new suppliers & development (improve supplier performance and collaboration/relationship and partnership with suppliers, develop sustainability)
- New supplier approval / background checks
- Facilitate (Total Cost Ownership) optimal solutions (between customer, engineering, assembly & suppliers) – e.g. sessions with engineers and suppliers
- Analyze cost drivers and prepare cost models and breakdowns
- Maintain correct master data (e.g. payment terms, Incoterms, prices)
- Support Supply Chain Engineers and Project Buyer (in search of new suppliers, evaluation, escalations, urgency, claims)
- Perform spend analysis (supplier turnover)
- Negotiating discounts and bonuses
- Agreeing to supplier roadmap (alignment with production and engineering – product)
- Improving internal and external purchasing and logistic processes
What are our requirements?
- University degree in economics, business, finance, supply chain or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in purchase
- Knowledge of market trends and practices in purchase & supply chain
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build relationship and partnership with suppliers
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers at a high level
- Analytical and business skills
- Commercial awareness and understanding
- Good PC skills
- Fluent in Czech and English (daily communication in English)
- Willingness to travel
- Knowledge of manufactured and electro parts
