Our Corporate Underwriting Department is looking for a passionate Contract Wording Specialist. This professional will provide the Underwriting community with consultation on reinsurance contracts’ matters, shape guidance and foster technological innovation in the realm of wordings’ analytics. The Specialist will closely collaborate with Underwriters, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management and other stakeholders, to foster reinsurance contractual quality across the organization.

 Your tasks

• Investigate latest industry/market developments and trends on aspects relevant to reinsurance contracts; timely advise the UW community and outline guidance; provide stakeholders with educational support
• Steer the creation of VIG Re preferred contractual provisions (e.g., standard wording), taking into due account the Company’s appetite, legal requirements and market standards
  Contribute to set UW standards and best practices; ensure effective understanding and adherence; in case of deviations, shape own recommendation for the decision
• Design and perform portfolio analysis, insights’ generation and effective consolidation of key messages; focus on contractual topics (e.g., clauses and exclusions), including their development over time and evolution across markets/lines of business
• As subject matter expert, actively contribute to the “UW transformation” initiative; drive the ambition to materially leverage AI capabilities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of contract management and governance processes

Our expectations

• University degree in Law or Legal Science
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the (re)insurance business
• Comprehensive knowledge of contractual standards
• High sense of accountability, solid organization skills, “can-do” mindset
• Tech savvy; solid analytical skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Fluency in English. Another major European language is a plus
