Group Leader of L2 DUHA

Focuses on the L2 DUHA laser system, supporting experiments in particle acceleration and plasma research with customized operational setups, and the development of associated laser technologies.

Job description:

• Leads, mentors, and coordinates the L2 DUHA group.
• Develops and commissions the L2 DUHA laser system.
• Ensures reliable operation and continuous enhancement of the laser system.
• Sets strategic goals aligned with the mission of the ELI Beamlines Facility
• Manages resources, project timelines, and technical documentation.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in laser physics, optics, photonics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience with the installation, operation, and development of short-pulse laser systems.
• Expertise in designing and commissioning laser systems, including laser diagnostics.
• Hands-on experience in experimental laser physics
• Experience with collaborative projects involving international research institutions or industrial partners.
• Ability to lead and manage a scientific or technical team in a research environment.
• Experience in project planning, including tracking deliverables, milestones, and project indicators.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
• High motivation to work in a dynamic international research infrastructure and contribute to advanced laser-based science.
