We are looking for a Cost Engineer with experience in Low Voltage Wiring and High Voltage Wiring harness, Connectors, Wiring Components, Starters, Motors, 12V Batteries, Charging Inlets design and/or costing.

Essential Technical skills:

• Development of Costing in support of Technical Estimation and/or Should Cost have based on technical features, specifications and Bill of Material for Wire harness Commodity
• Propose economic savings and optimization during vehicle milestones and cost target development.
• Support as an active cross-functional teammate to Engineering, Vehicle Team, Purchasing. Providing data driven cost deltas for target and quote gap closure.
• Help and Support Negotiation during Component RFQ, Change Notes, Vehicle milestones
• Utilize Client Methodology and cost database/calculators to develop and deliver cost analysis
• Support Benchmarking & Purchasing/Engineering Commodity Strategies

Should Cost, Change Request Cost Analysis & Sourcing Support:

• Develop Should Cost for new & modified Wiring harness parts
• Evaluate engineering changes to establish should cost for the change and identify the cost drivers for variable and supplier tooling
• Provide purchasing with support during supplier negotiations through analysis of supplier’s price breakdown detail and “should cost” analysis.
• Periodic Supplier visits to maintain & improve internal know-how of manufacturing processes & best practices.
• Identify potential cost optimization opportunities and support company technical cost reduction activities.
• Provide global component cost comparison analysis by working with Product Cost Engineers from other regions.
• Develop the cost structure for component standardization plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Must Have at least 6 to 10 years of work experience from Wire Harness industries or OEM’s

Advantageous

• Required Automotive industry experience.
• Cost reduction/ Should cost experience.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong Analytical and quantitative skills with ability to draw decisions using data and metrics.
