Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Strategic Supply Chain Manager to build and maintain deep, long-term relationships with sub-tier suppliers. In this individual contributor role, you will gather detailed supplier insights, drive sourcing strategies, and lead key activities such as tooling management, contract negotiations, and ordering system optimization. You will act as the main interface between internal stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring alignment on demand planning, pricing, delivery, and compliance. This role also includes presenting supplier status to customers and contributing to dual-sourcing and lead time reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Creation of working deep long-term relation with a sub-tier

• Collecting a deep knowledge about a sub-tier (contacts, manufacturing steps, bottleneck operations&sub-tiers, distribution chanel of finished goods, UCT position versus other sub-tier´s customers, LAM SBM/SCM, about product portfolio, new products etc. etc.)

• Regular contact with a sub-tier on demand outlook, strategies and sub-tier´s needs

• Commodity strategy creation and execution

• Managing of customer/UCT toolings at a sub-tier

• Optimization of ordering system with a sub-tier (enlargeing of ordering horizon, frame contacts & call-offs, etc. etc.)

• NDAs, contracts of whatever kind

• Responsible for organization of regular reviews (scorecards)

• Presentation status of a sub-tier to customers

• LT reduction activities

• Stocking programms of whatever kind

• Higher escalations for quoting, delivery, quality, pricing and other aspects

• Negotiation of pricing/scaling (pricing reduction programms)

• Running of dual-sourcing projects

Required Qualifications

• Secondary or university education in mechanical engineering is required

• Experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment

• Strong knowledge of supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization strategies

• Experience with tooling ownership, dual sourcing, and order management systems

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to analyze complex supplier data and drive actionable insights

• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Helios Orange)

• Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional language(s) are an advantage

• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to manage escalations independently
