At Stats Perform you’ll power the real-time “Watch & Bet” experience used by sportsbooks and broadcasters world-wide. Your code will stream live matches, crunch trillions of data points, and feed AI models that set the in-play odds your friends see on screen. You’ll join a friendly squad that’s modernising a large-scale Java estate to cloud-native AWS, giving you green-field freedom on new services while solving juicy refactor challenges in legacy ones.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and run high-throughput backend services delivering live video, odds, and statistics to millions of users.
• Lead the migration of on-premise systems to AWS and containerise workloads using Kubernetes.
• Manage and evolve customer-facing APIs, including event distribution, geoblocking, and channel planning.
• Collaborate with engineers across Europe and the US, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architecture decisions.

Tech stack you’ll work with

• Java 21 for new microservices, with some existing services on Java 11
• Spring / Quarkus, Gradle, JUnit 5, REST and gRPC
• AWS, EKS (Kubernetes), Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Event-driven systems with Kafka and video streaming workflows
• Python used occasionally for internal tools (a plus, but not required)

You’ll thrive in this role if you

• Write clean, efficient Java and are skilled in tuning backend systems for low-latency and high-throughput
• Have experience deploying and operating services in the cloud (AWS preferred)
• Are confident with containers, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Enjoy working with both greenfield and brownfield systems
• Embrace agile practices like TDD, pair/mob programming, and CI/CD workflows
• Communicate effectively in English for daily team calls (Czech is a plus)
