Leader of Controls Software Development Group (284)

Job description:

• Lead team of software engineers developing control system applications and embedded software.
• Definition of overall software architecture and long-term technical direction for control systems.
• Establish clear practices for coding, documentation, testing, and version control across the team.
• Help the team adopt workflows like CI/CD, DevOps, and lifecycle management.
• Guide adoption of emerging technologies that boost performance and scalability, encouraging experimentation while keeping solutions standardized and cost-effective.
• Ensure effective translation of requirements between scientists, hardware engineers, data team and the software development team.

Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Control engineering or related subject.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in software development for control systems, embedded platform or industrial automation
• Hands-on experience with control system middleware (EPICS or TANGO) and programming in LabVIEW and/or Python
• Working knowledge of spoken and written English

Desired experience

• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols
• Good understanding of DevOps
