Safety systems engineer (152)

Job description:

• Responsible for the development of state- based safety logic definition for PLCs programmed using a custom code generator. This includes in particular: machine safety systems and personal safety systems.
• Supervises hardware and software upgrades and maintenance of existing PLC based Personal Interlock system in cooperation with external supplier.
• Ensures compliance with machine safety standard IEC 61508.
• Responsible for fault diagnostics and support of safety systems operation.
• Supports commissioning, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of safety systems.
• Documents safety systems logic and prepares validation report templates for carrying out periodic safety system tests.

Requirements:

• Experience in machine safety, control systems engineering or industrial automation
• Working knowledge of a programming language (e.g. PYTHON
• Working knowledge of English

Preferred prior knowledge:

• Experience with PLCs and industrial safety components
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols
• Experience with risk assessment procedure
• Certification in Functional safety (e.g. TÜV or equivalent)
