We are looking for a Contract Manager to join our team, who will help us in agreeing international customer contracts for the Division Rail & Marine. You will work in an international environment and collaborate with customers and colleagues from various parts of the world. We welcome commercial and legal-oriented candidates with experience in supply and service contracts with customers who want to further develop in the area of commercial and risk management processes.

What can you expect in this position?

• In this role you are responsible for evaluating, commenting on, coordinating and negotiating international customer contracts and contract amendments for the Division Rail & Marine.
• You act as an interface between Sales and the specialist departments; you are a sparring partner for Sales on all contractual issues and during contract negotiations.
• You support specialized departments in the implementation of contractual terms, including areas of payment security, bank guarantees, and other related topics, and ensure compliance with legal requirements such as export control or tax issues.
• The development of suitable defense strategies for claims (in the case of supplementary claims, claims for damages or contractual penalties, particularly in connection with defects, delays, disruptions in processes, and changes in performance) is also part of your responsibility.
• You also take on special tasks and projects as part of commercial risk management.In addition, you support the further development and implementation of global contract and risk management.

What do we expect?

• Master or Bachelor degree in business administration with a focus on law or a comparable course of study (e.g. business law)
• At least 3 years of professional experience in contract management, ideally in mechanical and plant engineering/industry
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Further foreign language skills (e.g. German) are an advantage
• Confident in using standard MS Office applications
• Willingness to travel to customers and affiliated Voith companies (Up to 10% mainly within Europe – but possible globally)
• Adherence to and respect for established processes
• Strong analytical skills, ability to work in a team and an independent and solution-oriented way of working
• Personality who enjoys working across different departments and corporate functions (including sales, order processing, finance, legal and tax)
