Purpose of the Role
The Logistics Officer coordinates inbound and outbound material flows for raw materials, finished products, and waste streams to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective transportation within Sibelco’s glass recycling network. The role combines operational logistics management, coordination with carriers and suppliers, and partial oversight of the company’s own fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities
Transport Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding material availability and collection scheduling.
- Plan and organize inbound deliveries to recycling plants from local and international markets.
- Plan and monitor outbound shipments to customers (domestic and export).
- Prepare and send transport orders to carriers and monitor execution status.
- Maintain an up-to-date transport registry and ensure documentation completeness.
- Organize ad hoc shipments based on business needs.
- Forecast and plan logistics capacity to support production, sales, and waste processing.
Supplier & Carrier Relations
- Communicate daily with transport companies to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues, and verify compliance (including waste transport permits).
- Support resolution of transport invoice discrepancies and cooperate with finance and procurement.
- Evaluate transport performance and cost efficiency.
- Prepare and monitor transport cost estimates and ensure alignment with budget targets.
Own Fleet Management
- Manage company-owned vehicles and drivers (C+E license), ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Oversee driver scheduling, time sheets, and compliance with working time regulations.
- Monitor and report telemetry data from trucks to optimize fuel use and driving behavior.
- Coordinate driver training programs, fuel settlements, and vehicle supplies.
- Supervise repairs, servicing, and maintenance of company-owned fleet.

Required Competencies & Skills
Technical & Professional
- Strong knowledge of logistics, transport coordination, and supply chain planning.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
- Understanding of transport documentation, cost monitoring, and environmental transport regulations (waste transport permits).
- Experience in fleet management and transport cost control is a strong advantage.
Language
- Czech – fluent
- English – minimum B2 level

Education & Experience
- Secondary or higher education, preferably in logistics, transport, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience in logistics coordination or fleet management within an industrial, recycling, or manufacturing company.
- Familiarity with transport legislation, waste movement rules, and EHS standards is an asset.
