We are looking for a DEPUTY TECHNICAL DIRECTOR!

We are seeking a Deputy Technical Director who will support the Technical Managing Director in both strategic and operational matters, drive key cross-functional projects, and act as a crucial link between executive leadership and technical teams.

What you will do
- Support the Technical Managing Director in strategic planning, decision preparation, and technical governance.
- Drive company-wide technical initiatives in areas such as digitalization, process standardization, automation, and technological development.
- Ensure structured project execution, tracking milestones, risks, budgets, and timelines.
- Ensure production readiness, process stability, and quality alignment for new product introductions (NPI).
- Conduct technical feasibility assessments and support decision-making for new products and technologies.
- Standardize processes, document best practices, and support continuous improvement within R&D, Process Engineering, and Production.
- Serve as a central contact point for internal departments and external partners, including suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, reduce lead times, and improve product quality and manufacturability.
- Promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation across teams.
Who we are looking for
Educational Background
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Certifications in Project Management, Lean Management, or similar are an advantage.
- Basic understanding of automotive standards (APQP, FMEA, PPAP) is beneficial.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, ideally in a technical or engineering environment.
- Proven experience in project management within manufacturing, automotive, or product development.
- Experience with new product introduction processes is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of quality and industrial standards (ISO, IATF 16949).
- ·Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems (SAP, Teamcenter) is highly beneficial.
Technical & Personal Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
- High reliability, initiative, and discretion.
- Hands-on and solution-oriented mindset with creativity in technical problem-solving.
- Basics in MS Office; experience with CAD/CAM tools is an advantage.
- Fluent English; German language skills are an advantage.
- Driving licence (B category).
Preferred Additional Competencies
- Knowledge of forming, welding, bending, and industrial automation.
- Experience with Lean tools, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Leadership experience in matrix or cross-functional teams.
