We are looking for a DEPUTY TECHNICAL DIRECTOR!

Are you ready to take on a strategic and impactful role within a growing technical organization?
We are seeking a Deputy Technical Director who will support the Technical Managing Director in both strategic and operational matters, drive key cross-functional projects, and act as a crucial link between executive leadership and technical teams.

What you will do

  • Support the Technical Managing Director in strategic planning, decision preparation, and technical governance.
  • Drive company-wide technical initiatives in areas such as digitalization, process standardization, automation, and technological development.
  • Ensure structured project execution, tracking milestones, risks, budgets, and timelines.
  • Ensure production readiness, process stability, and quality alignment for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Conduct technical feasibility assessments and support decision-making for new products and technologies.
  • Standardize processes, document best practices, and support continuous improvement within R&D, Process Engineering, and Production.
  • Serve as a central contact point for internal departments and external partners, including suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, reduce lead times, and improve product quality and manufacturability.
  • Promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation across teams.

Who we are looking for

Educational Background

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Certifications in Project Management, Lean Management, or similar are an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of automotive standards (APQP, FMEA, PPAP) is beneficial.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, ideally in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Proven experience in project management within manufacturing, automotive, or product development.
  • Experience with new product introduction processes is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of quality and industrial standards (ISO, IATF 16949).
  • ·Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems (SAP, Teamcenter) is highly beneficial.

Technical & Personal Skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • High reliability, initiative, and discretion.
  • Hands-on and solution-oriented mindset with creativity in technical problem-solving.
  • Basics in MS Office; experience with CAD/CAM tools is an advantage.
  • Fluent English; German language skills are an advantage.
  • Driving licence (B category).

Preferred Additional Competencies

  • Knowledge of forming, welding, bending, and industrial automation.
  • Experience with Lean tools, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Leadership experience in matrix or cross-functional teams.
