O pozici

Pracovní nabídka

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Communications team!

Job vacancy: Communications Officer
Department: Outreach & Communications
Reports to: Senior Communications Officer
Type of employment: Full-time/Part-time
Location: Prague, Czechia
Application deadline: 11 January 2026 (applications are reviewed on a rolling basis)

The Prague Civil Society Centre is a non-profit organisation that supports and empowers civil society and independent media in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Designed to operate in the harshest of conditions, we do everything we can to support those working towards more open, free, and democratic futures – no matter how far away that may seem today. We believe that a vibrant civil society and independent media are key to this. We work to ensure that activists, journalists, and changemakers of all kinds, many of whom work under the most repressive regimes, get the support they need to push for change, be it grants, capacity building, or connections.

About the role:
As a Communications Officer, you’ll join our growing Communications team and be responsible for getting the word out about the Prague Civil Society Centre. Under the supervision of the Senior Communications Officer, you’ll develop and grow our online presence, secure coverage at our major events, and make sure our communications conform to our communication strategy and brand identity.

This is a role that requires sensitivity to the specific environments we work in as well as the restrictions that working in closed and closing political contexts brings to public communications. With these in mind, you’ll also work on finding creative ways to highlight the extraordinary work and achievements of our partners.

Key responsibilities:

  • Producing external communications content (including multimedia products) for social media, website, digital newsletters, and other publications both in English and Czech
  • Ensuring consistency in terms of voice, messaging, branding, and frequency of posting via digital channels
  • Supporting staff in drafting reports and case studies, presentations and talking points as required, and providing editorial function as needed
  • Contributing to the planning and organisation of both public and closed events in Prague in line with the Centre’s communication strategy, including the identification of new opportunities to increase the Centre’s visibility and engagement with different audiences
  • Handling media enquiries and creating effective news releases to gain positive press coverage

Core competencies:

  • Ideally at least 3 years of experience in a relevant sector (communications and public relations, journalism, event management, advocacy, etc.)
  • Experience in producing content for social media, including multimedia content
  • Experience in social media management, including analytics
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Czech is required
  • Strong planning skills, ability to work independently and manage competing priorities and timelines
  • Well-organised person with attention to detail
  • Proactive person with an eye for spotting communication opportunities, i.e. also understanding the Czech media context
  • A university degree in a relevant field is an asset, as well as knowledge of any other language relevant to our work
  • Ability to work in a multi-national team
  • Candidate should be based in Czechia, or have access to the EU labour market

Benefits:

  • 25 days of vacation annually and up to three additional days during the Christmas week when the office is closed
  • 50% contribution towards language courses and selected media subscriptions
  • Opportunities for professional and personal development (courses, workshops, training sessions)
  • Annual contribution of up to CZK 10,000 for coaching, mentoring, or other wellbeing practices
  • Fully covered phone tariff (including unlimited data, messaging, and calls)
  • In the absence of work commitments that require office presence, the possibility to work from home on Wednesdays
  • Fully paid sick days
  • Additional benefits (for example, additional days off, development, and wellness contributions) are unlocked at selected milestones of time with the organisation

The salary is based on the Prague Civil Society Centre’s salary scale, with an expected gross monthly range of CZK 45,000-55,000 for a full-time position (40 hours per week), depending on skills and experience.

How to apply:

Interested candidates should submit their CV in English (max. 2 pages) and a motivation letter explaining how they meet the criteria.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews. Incomplete applications (including applications without a motivation letter) will not be accepted.
