We are looking for a motivated student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (or a similar quantitative field) who would like to gain practical experience in actuarial work while studying. In this role, you will work closely with our actuarial team and report to the Deputy Chief Actuary (based in Poland). You will support pricing, reserving, capital management, and business planning activities and cooperate with colleagues across the organization. This position offers a great opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and to grow in an international environment.
This role is suitable for students (part-time / flexible hours, not a full-time employment contract).
Day to Day Tasks:
Pricing & Business Planning
- Support the development, recalibration, and documentation of actuarial pricing models.
- Assist with performance monitoring of existing products.
- Help automate actuarial reports and create new analytical tools (e.g. Power BI, R, Python).
- Prepare segmentation analyses to identify performance drivers and support underwriting decisions.
- Provide actuarial input to business planning activities.
Reserving
- Support quarterly reserving studies using appropriate actuarial techniques.
- Assist in identifying classes for deeper review and help coordinate inputs from key stakeholders.
Capital
- Support the calculation of capital requirements (SCR) under Solvency II.
Group Projects
- Participate in group-wide actuarial or strategic projects related to pricing, reserving, or capital.
Requirements:
- Student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics or similar (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field).
- Interest and motivated in actuarial topics and insurance.
- Very good knowledge of MS Excel (VBA is a plus).
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of R and/or Python (SQL or Power BI is an advantage).
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 is an advantage, but not required.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in an international environment.
- Fluent English.
- Willingness to learn, analytical mindset, and good time management.
