We are looking for a new Local Immigration Coordinator to join our team. As a member of the immigration team within the International Assignment & Local Immigration Services team, you will be at the forefront of coordinating and executing immigration processes to support our employees' mobility needs. You will work closely with external partners, Corporate Services & Global Services team, and local authorities to ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations while fostering a seamless experience for both employees and the company. This includes developing innovative ways to work across assigned countries/regions, and proactively but diplomatically aligning with internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills, and must be able to work independently and very accurately. Furthermore, he or she should be a team player who successfully acts in a multi-functional environment and takes ownership for the assigned tasks within the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the coordination and execution of immigration processes, ensuring efficient management of work permits and visa validation within your assigned countries/regions/locations.
- Maintain and update employee immigration records and documentation, both digitally and in physical files.
- Lead efforts in organizing and streamlining immigration-related paperwork, capturing both e-signatures and wet signatures as necessary.
- Provide support to team members, ensuring timely follow-up with employees regarding signed documents and immigration requirements.
- Support monthly/quarterly/yearly/credit and PO reconciliation process for your assigned countries/regions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate a smooth immigration process and excellence in execution and service delivery
- Represent Johnson & Johnson (Corporate Services & Global Services) in dealings with local authorities on immigration and labor law matters as needed/required.
- Drive continuous process improvement in immigration operations and facilitate educational immigration townhalls as needed.
Additional responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop current knowledge of designated areas and requirements and act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization
- Collect and pass on ideas from customers/stakeholders and co-workers, development of own ideas and excellence in execution
- Prepare reporting on different needs of business and maintain data for budget(s) and KPI overviews
- Build positive relationships and ensure on-going and effective engagement within GS / LIC / Immigration CoE team and towards Customers and Stakeholders
- Back-up function for LIC team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required (An educational background in Human Resources, Immigration Law or a related field is preferred but not required).
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Immigrations work is a strong preference.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Resources (Talent Acquisition, ERLR, HR Operations etc.) is a strong preference.
- Proficiency in HRIS database systems (i.e. Workday, Service Now) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-directed, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated continuous learning mindset, openness to feedback, and a collaborative spirit.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Excellent customer orientation and service skills.
- A proactive team player with a positive attitude and adaptability.
- Fluent in English language (C1 and above).
- Multi-lingual is a strong preference (B2 level and above) but not a requirement.
