Accounts Payable Accountant (Prague / Full Time)

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our well‑established Shared Service Center in Karlín.

This position is open to both junior and senior candidates — whether you are early in your career and eager to learn, or you bring several years of accounting experience and are ready to take on more responsibility, we would love to speak with you.

In this role, you will support Merisant, a global food company dedicated to promoting healthier lifestyles and offering high‑quality both plant‑based & artificial sweeteners, flavor enhancers, and other food products across a broad portfolio of trusted brands. We are part of Whole Earth Brands group.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in Accounts Payable, ideally within a Shared Service Center environment.
• Junior applicants: at least 1 year of AP experience, willingness to learn and grow.
• Senior applicants: over 3 years of AP experience, ability to work independently
• Education in Accounting or a related field is an advantage.
• Fluent English, as we operate in a global, international environment.
• Good Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
• ERP experience is a plus — we work with SAP and D365.
• A true team player who is responsible, reliable, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and book vendor invoices, ensuring all required supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
• Monitor and resolve invoice discrepancies (price differences, missing PO, GR issues) in cooperation with Procurement and relevant departments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies by reviewing statements and related transactions.
• Prepare payment proposals and process payments in collaboration with the Treasury team.
• Maintain and update vendor master data in accordance with company policies.
• Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Participate in the monthly closing process for assigned areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Post basic journal entries and support the General Ledger Accountant when required.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by management.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and AP procedures.
• Provide supporting documentation for external audits, ensuring smooth audit execution.
• Safeguard company information by maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline AP processes and enhance efficiency.
