Your role

Digitalization projects in manufacturing:

  • Planning, management and implementation of projects for the digitalization of production (e.g. introduction of MDE/MES systems, retrofit, centralized machine control)
  • Analysis of existing manufacturing processes and derivation of suitable digital solutions to improve efficiency
  • Development of a standardized requirements catalogue in close coordination with specialist departments and IT

Interface between production and IT:

  • Collection and prioritization of requirements from production sites
  • Coordination with internal IT departments to define interfaces, data flows, and system architecture
  • Support in the technical evaluation and implementation of new systems in the manufacturing environment

Workshop facilitation and training:

  • Conducting workshops with plant personnel to identify improvement potential and digitalization opportunities
  • Creation and implementation of training concepts for the rollout of new digital tools
  • Data analysis and process monitoring:
  • Supporting the implementation of data collection and visualization systems
  • Assistance in defining and tracking relevant KPIs (e.g. OEE, degree of automation)

Technology scouting and innovation management:

  • Identification of new technologies (e.g. AI-supported production planning, predictive maintenance, visual quality control, digital assistance systems, sensor technologies) to enhance manufacturing processes
  • Evaluation of technological trends and derivation of use cases for production
  • Attendance at trade fairs, technology days and networking events to observe the market and identify potential partners

Project and resource management:

  • Development of project plans and timelines, considering available resources
  • Coordination of internal and external partners (e.g. suppliers for MES/MDE systems, retrofit providers)
  • Supplier and partner development:
  • Research, selection and qualification of providers for digital systems and automation solutions
  • Specification of requirements and support in tendering processes for new manufacturing IT solutions
  • Collaboration with external technology partners, start-ups and system integrators

Your profile


Education:

  • Completed degree in industrial engineering, production technology, IT with industrial relevance or comparable qualification

Professional experience:

  • Initial to several years of experience in managing digitalization projects in an industrial environment, ideally in production or manufacturing technology

Skills and qualifications:

  • Experience with MES, MDE or similar manufacturing IT systems
  • Strong interest in technological developments (e.g. Industry 4.0, AI in manufacturing)
  • Ability to translate technological potential into practical implementation projects
  • Experience working with external technology partners, suppliers, or system providers is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of process analysis, project management and industrial IT
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP; experience with project tools is a plus

Language skills:

  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken) required
  • Additionally German is preferred

Soft skills:

  • High level of initiative, team spirit, structured and solution-oriented approach
  • Strong communication skills in collaboration with shop floor teams, IT specialists and management

Willingness to travel:

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to national and international production sites (e.g. Germany, USA)
