As our Senior Performance Test Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining performance testing frameworks and automated test suites for complex distributed systems.
Leading performance analysis efforts, identifying system bottlenecks, conducting root-cause analysis, and partnering with engineering teams on remediation.
Developing realistic performance test scenarios based on production usage patterns, business requirements, and architectural constraints.
Generating high-quality performance reports with actionable recommendations and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Establishing and enforcing performance standards, SLAs, and best practices across teams.
Contributing to the design and enhancement of performance test frameworks, tools, and pipelines.
Working with architects and engineers to define performance criteria, SLAs, and workload models.
Participating in root-cause analysis for scalability and latency issues across distributed systems.
Supporting integration of performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and advocating for continuous performance validation.
Assisting in preparing performance environments that mirror production conditions.
Mentoring mid-level and junior engineers in using performance testing tools and interpreting results.
Providing technical input for performance tuning related to application code, databases, APIs, infrastructure, and configurations.
Your Experience and Background include:
5+ years of experience in performance testing or engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major performance testing tool (JMeter, Gatling, K6, Locust, LoadRunner, etc.).
Solid programming or scripting skills in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, API performance, databases, caching, and networking fundamentals.
Proven ability to analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
Experience testing high-traffic or mission-critical applications.
Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate technical findings clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with APM/observability platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Prometheus/Grafana).
Experience with containerized and cloud-native environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure).
Background in SRE, capacity planning, chaos engineering, or reliability optimization.
Familiarity with event-driven systems, streaming platforms (Kafka, Pulsar), or microservice architectures.
Knowledge of CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo).
Prior mentoring or leadership experience in a performance engineering team.
Contributions to open-source performance tools or libraries.
