Key Areas of Responsibility

• Architect & Automate AWS Solutions: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, resilient DevOps solutions within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem, prioritizing "Automation-First" methodologies.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect and manage complex infrastructure using Terraform, focusing on modular design, state consistency, and automated drift detection.
• Container Orchestration: Deploy and manage high-availability applications using Amazon EKS (Kubernetes) and hybrid environments, ensuring seamless scaling and networking.
• CI/CD Leadership: Establish, optimize, and maintain end-to-end Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines to accelerate software delivery cycles and ensure code quality.
• Observability & Reliability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, centralized logging, and proactive alerting using AWS-native and open-source tools to maintain 99.9% platform reliability.
• Security Integration (DevSecOps): Collaborate with security teams to bake automated security scanning (SAST/DAST), IAM least-privilege policies, and secret management into the deployment lifecycle.
• Performance Engineering: Support deployed solutions through advanced troubleshooting, automated performance testing, and cost-optimization strategies.

Required Skills

• Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory – ability to communicate effectively with a global, distributed team, Czech or Slovak fluently
• AWS Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with core services: EC2, EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, and SQS/SNS.
• Terraform Mastery: Proven proficiency in Terraform for IaC, including workspace management, custom providers, and integrating Terraform into automated pipelines.
• Kubernetes (EKS): Practical experience managing EKS clusters, including Helm charts, ingress controllers, node groups, and horizontal/vertical scaling.
• Advanced CI/CD & Automation: Strong experience building pipelines in GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline, with a focus on automated testing and deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary).
• Scripting & Development: Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automating repetitive operational tasks and building custom tooling.
• Linux Systems: Solid knowledge of Linux administration (Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, RHEL), including kernel tuning, shell scripting, and package management.
• Configuration Management: Experience with tools like Ansible for automated server configuration and consistency.
• Networking & Security: Understanding DNS (Route 53), Load Balancing (ALB/NLB), Security Groups, and K8s RBAC.
• Stack Observability: Experience with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack to drive data-driven operational decisions.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Positive attitude toward learning and adapting to new technologies.

The Following Is Considered a Plus

• AWS Certifications: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• GitOps Adoption: Experience with ArgoCD or Flux for declarative continuous delivery to Kubernetes.
• Advanced Networking: Experience with AWS App Mesh or Istio service mesh.
• SRE Principles: Deep understanding of Error Budgets, SLIs/SLOs, and toil reduction.
