What is waiting for you

As CFO at BlockWave, you will be the financial backbone of a growing B2B digital asset exchange operating at the intersection of crypto and traditional finance. You will sit on the executive team alongside the CEO and report directly to the Board of Managing Directors, with full ownership of the company's financial strategy, reporting, and controls.

Your day-to-day will span financial planning and analysis, treasury management across both fiat and crypto-denominated positions, oversight of banking and payment provider relationships, and ensuring the company's financial operations meet regulatory expectations in Czech Republic and EU jurisdictions. You will work closely with compliance, operations, and business development to support new client onboarding, partnership negotiations, and licensing processes — including interactions with financial institutions that require robust financial documentation and audit trails. As the company scales, you will also lead the buildout of the finance function, including hiring and structuring the team beneath you.

What skills and knowledge should you possess

• Proven experience as CFO or senior finance leader in a fintech, payments, or digital asset business
• Deep understanding of EU financial regulatory environment — PSD2, MiCA, AML/CFT obligations at the financial reporting level
• Hands-on experience managing multi-currency treasury, including crypto-to-fiat settlement flows
• Track record of building and maintaining relationships with banking partners and EMIs
• Fluency in Czech and English (written and spoken) — you will draft and review financial documents, regulatory filings, and board materials in both languages
• Strong command of financial reporting standards applicable in Czech Republic (Czech GAAP / IFRS)

Which competences are an advantage

• Prior experience at a crypto exchange, OTC desk, or institutional trading platform
• Familiarity with the Czech National Bank regulatory framework and experience liaising with regulators
• Understanding of blockchain-based treasury tools and crypto custody arrangements
• Experience with Series A/B fundraising or preparing a company for external investment
• Existing network among Czech and European banking and payment infrastructure providers
