Pracovní nabídka

We are looking for a finance professional to join our team!

Job vacancy: Project Financial Officer
Department: Finance & Security
Reports to: Finance & Compliance Specialist
Type of employment: Full-time/Part-time
Location: Prague, Czechia
Application deadline: 7 April 2026

The Prague Civil Society Centre is a non-profit organisation that supports and empowers civil society and independent media in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Designed to operate in the harshest of conditions, we do everything we can to support those working towards more open, free, and democratic futures – no matter how far away that may seem today. We believe that a vibrant civil society and independent media are key to this. We work to ensure that activists, journalists, and changemakers of all kinds, many of whom work under the most repressive regimes, get the support they need to push for change, be it grants, capacity building, or connections.

About the role:
As a Project Financial Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and effective delivery of our projects. In close collaboration with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll be involved in planning and overseeing project finances. This role offers an opportunity not only to manage the financial aspects of our work, but also to actively contribute to the development and implementation of internal processes and systems of the organisation as a whole. We’re seeking someone who is independent, responsible, and has a strong sense of ownership.

While a full-time arrangement is preferred, we are open to considering a part-time setup for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing and managing project budgets in cooperation with other teams across the organisation
  • Supporting financial reporting and monitoring of project expenditures; ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor requirements
  • Coordinating and overseeing project-related audits
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of internal financial processes related to project implementation

Core competencies:

  • Solid background in finance management or auditing
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of EU-funded project requirements or experience with institutional donors (e.g. Czech Development Agency) is a strong advantage, but not a requirement
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset; eager to support colleagues and the organisation’s mission
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Candidate should be based in Czechia, or have access to the EU labour market

Benefits:

  • 25 days of vacation annually and up to three additional days during the Christmas week when the office is closed
  • 50% contribution towards language courses and selected media subscriptions
  • Opportunities for professional and personal development (courses, workshops, training sessions)
  • Annual contribution of up to CZK 10,000 for coaching, mentoring, or other wellbeing practices
  • Fully covered phone tariff (including unlimited data, messaging, and calls)
  • In the absence of work commitments that require office presence, the possibility to work from home on Wednesdays
  • Fully paid sick days
  • Additional benefits (for example, additional days off, development, and wellness contributions) are unlocked at selected milestones of time with the organisation

The salary is based on the Prague Civil Society Centre’s salary scale with an expected gross monthly range of CZK 45,000-65,000 for a full-time position (40 hours per week), depending on skills and experience. While we prefer candidates with strong and relevant experience (corresponding to the higher end of the salary band), we may also consider more junior profiles who demonstrate strong motivation and potential. In such cases, the offer would be at the lower end of the salary range.

How to apply:
Interested candidates should complete the application form, where they will submit their CV in English (max. 2 pages) and a motivation letter (optional) explaining how they meet the criteria.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
