About the Company
A.T. International s.r.o. is a well-established Czech importer and distributor of Asian food products, supplying large retail chains such as Kaufland and Albert, as well as smaller grocery stores. We have been a trusted supplier to the Czech and Slovak retail markets for over two decades and are currently on a modernization journey under new leadership, investing in our operational and commercial capabilities.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced and organized Procurement & Operations Manager to take ownership of our end-to-end supply chain — from placing orders with suppliers to coordinating ocean freight shipments and managing deliveries to supermarket distribution centers. This is a critical operational role with direct impact on company efficiency and profitability.

You will also manage two warehouse staff and carry full responsibility for all warehouse and inventory operations, ensuring our storage and fulfilment processes run smoothly and to standard.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Place and manage orders with suppliers (primarily in Asia) based on sales demand and inventory requirements
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships and negotiate terms
  • Track order status, delivery timelines, and ensure continuity of supply
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers as needed

Logistics & Freight

  • Coordinate container freight shipments and ocean logistics with freight forwarders and carriers
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation: Bills of Lading (B/L), Packing Lists (PL), commercial invoices, customs documents, and compliance certificates
  • Manage customs clearance, import duties, and coordinate with customs brokers
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve issues and delays

Warehousing & Inventory

  • Manage two warehouse staff, assigning daily tasks and ensuring safe and efficient warehouse operations
  • Assist in the physical unloading of goods in the warehouse alongside warehouse staff
  • Liaise with the warehouse on inbound receipts, storage, and order picking
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and keep systems up to date
  • Conduct quarterly inventory checks, stock counts, and perform required reconciliations

Distribution & Customer Logistics

  • Plan and coordinate deliveries to retail distribution centers (Kaufland, Albert, etc.)
  • Liaise with transport providers and monitor delivery schedules and deadlines
  • Resolve delivery discrepancies, claims, and customer-facing logistics issues

Requirements

Must Have

  • Fluent Czech (native or near-native)
  • Intermediate level of English (ability to communicate with management, to prepare and present documents in English)
  • 2–4 years of experience in logistics, import, operations, or procurement
  • Hands-on experience with international freight, freight forwarders, and shipping documentation (B/L, PL, customs)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • University degree (any discipline)
  • Self-motivated and reliable

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience in food import/distribution or FMCG supply chain
  • Knowledge of EU customs and import procedures
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers in Asian markets
  • Familiarity with WMS, ERP, or order management systems
  • Forklift license for warehouse operations

Nice to Have

  • Interest in or knowledge of Asian cuisine and food products
  • Basic familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) for workflow efficiency
  • Driving license (Category B)

Location & Start Date

  • Location: Prague 4, Písnice (on-site with occasional visits to suppliers or warehouse)
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Contract: Indefinite after standard probationary period (4 months)
