About the opportunity

We are representing an established international group operating in the field of multi-metal distribution and processing, with a strong presence across Europe. Their extensive inventory includes aluminium, stainless steel and copper in all semi-finished forms, covering a wide range of grades/alloys, shapes and sizes – both industry standards and special.

Within the Eastern European region (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania), the business is structured as a group of independent entities, each with its own management and responsibility for results.

The region offers solid market potential and a stable foundation in several countries, while at the same time there is room for further development, product range expansion, alignment and performance improvement.

To support this next phase, the company is strengthening its regional leadership and is now looking for an experienced manager to take over this responsibility.

Your role

You will be responsible for a group of companies across multiple countries, each operating with its own P&L and local management team.

Your focus will be to:

• gain a deep understanding of each local business and its market position within the multi-metal distribution
• support and develop local management teams
• bring more structure, clarity and consistency into the local organization
• and further strengthen overall business performance

The role combines commercial leadership, operational oversight and organizational development.

Key responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for performance across several entities in the region
• Close cooperation with local Managing Directors / Branch Managers
• Driving improvements in profitability, pricing and commercial effectiveness
• Supporting development of sales activities and market positioning
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, organization and efficiency
• Introducing and strengthening performance management and reporting
• Leading selected change and improvement initiatives
• Contributing to building a more structured and performance-oriented environment

What we are looking for

We are looking for a senior leader with a strong business mindset and the ability to operate across multiple entities and cultures.

You should bring:

• Proven experience with P&L responsibility, ideally across multiple units or countries
• Background in distribution, trading or industrial environment
• Strong commercial understanding (pricing, margins, customers)
• Experience in change management or business improvement initiatives
• Ability to work with and develop local management teams

Experience in multi-metal (aluminium, stainless steel and copper) or related industries is an advantage, but not essential.
