Associate Manager Regulatory Affairs
As the Regulatory Affairs Specialist for Market Access, you will be the primary driver for product registrations, renewals, and import/export compliance across the EMEA region, with a specific focus on non-EU markets. This role is critical in bridging the gap between manufacturing and global commercialization, ensuring our life-changing pet nutrition reaches markets efficiently. You will act as a strategic partner, collaborating with global regulatory colleagues, supply chain teams, and government agencies (including veterinary control authorities) to optimize time-to-market and navigate complex trade landscapes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Market Access & Compliance
- Lead Regulatory Resolution: Solve complex problems related to registrations and import/export flows for the EMEA portfolio.
- Authority Liaison: Build and maintain professional relationships with Dutch, Czech, Italian, and other international veterinary control authorities.
- Logistics Collaboration: Partner with Customer Service and Logistics (CS&L) to ensure all regulatory hurdles are cleared for timely product dispatch.
- Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency in regulatory workflows and service levels.
- Audit & Documentation: Supervise the creation of, and audit for accuracy, all compliant regulatory documentation for international shipments.
Strategy & Intelligence
- Regulatory Strategy: Advise the business on successful product introduction strategies based on in-depth knowledge of country-specific import/export requirements.
- Intelligence Management: Research and maintain country-specific regulatory intelligence files; author regulatory Points of View (POVs) and assessments for Product Inventory Reviews (PIRs).
- Registration Oversight: Manage the end-to-end registration process, including data analysis and certificate preparation, while overseeing the Importation and Registration database.
Representation & Engagement
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Represent the EMEA Regulatory Affairs team in project meetings with R&D, Marketing, Legal, and Procurement.
- Trade Advocacy: Act as the Hill’s representative within the European Pet Food Association (FEDIAF) and the Czech Pet Food Association.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field. A scientific or technical background (e.g., Biochemistry, Biology, Veterinary Science) is highly preferred.
- Proven industry experience in regulatory affairs, market access, or export compliance roles.
Expected Areas of Knowledge:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and web-based technologies; experience with relational and non-relational database systems is a plus.
- A meticulous approach to documentation, tracking, and information interpretation.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external government agencies.
- Self-motivated and able to thrive while working independently, yet remains a collaborative team player across diverse departments.
- A proactive and highly ethical approach to compliance and regulatory standards.
