Management of the Supply Chain organizational structure – direct supervision of four department heads (Purchasing, Strategic Purchasing, Logistics, and Warehousing), with responsibility for the goals, KPIs, performance evaluations, and development of these teams.
Collaboration with other key stakeholders, such as Manufacturing, Technology, and Sales, is also critical for this role, as some of these materials are an essential and visible part of our sales offering to customers Ensuring proper visibility and alignment between sales and purchasing strategies is essential for mitigating business risks and achieving success.
The position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations at the Nymburk plant and the Vice President of Supply Chain for the EMEA region.
What you will be responsible for:
- Develop, lead and continuously improve the local Supply Chain organization by planning and developing personnel, setting clear objectives, and ensuring effective training, career development and performance evaluation in cooperation with key stakeholders
- Ensure deployment and execution of Supply Chain objectives and directives defined by Site VP Operations and the regional/global Supply Chain organization
- Ensure timely availability of materials and services in line with customer demand, production plans and overall company requirements
- Define, manage and continuously optimize material planning and ordering processes (MRP, reordering points, spot buying, etc.) considering customer lead times, supplier lead times, BOM reliability and business constraints
- Monitor business development and maintain key planning parameters (min/max stock, reorder points, MOQ, inventory policies) to ensure optimal inventory levels and material flow throughout the entire site material cycle
- Lead supplier selection, nomination and sourcing activities, manage purchasing contracts and modifications, ensure supplier confirmations, compliance with purchasing conditions and escalation of deviations when required
- Drive initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency improvement and long‑term value creation across materials, components, investments and services, ensuring alignment of the supply base with company stratégy
- Ensure proper Supply Chain governance through procedures, tools, ERP, reporting and data availability, provide support for budgeting and projects, monitor market trends, and represent the company in Supply Chain‑related matters
About you:
- Experienced Supply Chain leader with a proven track record and at least 5 years of managerial experience in a medium‑sized international or global organization, preferably in a mechanical engineering or manufacturing environment.
- University degree or equivalent education in a relevant field such as engineering, economics or business management.
- Proven ability to independently lead, motivate and develop teams against defined objectives in a demanding environment.
- Purpose‑driven, target‑oriented professional, comfortable working under pressure and proactively identifying continuous improvement opportunities across products, processes and suppliers.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, enabling achievement of optimal procurement conditions while maintaining professional supplier relationships and resolving internal and external conflicts.
- Balanced leadership style with a strong strategic perspective and the ability to lead across functions.
- Capable of working and leading effectively in a matrix organization; team player comfortable in a truly international, multicultural environment.
- Fluent business communication skills in Czech and English; based in Nymburk with willingness to travel, primarily within the region.
