Your tasks – what can you expect?

• Prepare reliable, detailed cost estimates to support pricing decisions for long-term customer offers in the automotive industry.
• Provide cost analyses and commercial insights to support Sales and Purchasing teams in customer and supplier negotiations.
• Lead cross-functional cost optimization initiatives, ensuring timely execution and support-ing strategic sourcing decisions such as make-or-buy and local-versus-global sourcing.
• Develop and continuously improve cost estimation methods, calculation models, and cost databases to ensure accurate, reliable, and standardized cost analyses.
• Analyze supplier and customer cost breakdowns to drive benchmarking, identify cost-saving opportunities and support data-driven decision-making
• Validate quotation-phase cost calculations against SAP costing data at SOP and ensure a smooth handover to serial production.
• Promote a strong cost-awareness culture across the organization through benchmarking, training, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

Your profile – who are we looking for?

• Min. 5 years of experience in cost engineering /cost calculation, ideally within manufacturing industry
• Higher commercial or technical degree
• Proficiency in SAP and Office365 (especially Excel)
• Very good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong analytical skills with proven experience in cost modeling, data preparation, statistical analysis and benchmarking
• Demonstrated success in supplier and customer negotiations, supported by stakeholder management skills
• Solid technical understanding combined with knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw material markets, and global cost drivers
