Application Specialist - Semiconductors

If you are passionate about semiconductors and enjoy helping customers solve complex technical challenges, this role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on scientific work with customer interaction. You will demonstrate advanced electron microscopy solutions, deliver expert training, and help shape the future of semiconductor applications through close collaboration with customers and product development teams.

What You'll Do

• Perform sample analysis using scanning electron microscopy, focused ion beam systems, and analytical techniques for semiconductor applications.
• Develop, optimize, and refine imaging and analysis workflows to achieve the best possible results for customers.
• Demonstrate electron microscope to customers and showcase their capabilities across a wide range of semiconductor and microelectronics applications.
• Consult with customers, distributors, and colleagues to recommend the most suitable workflows and instrument configurations for their specific challenges.
• Deliver customer training both at Tescan facilities and on-site internationally, ensuring users gain confidence in operating our systems.
• Collaborate with software and hardware development teams by providing practical application expertise and customer feedback.
• Represent Tescan at conferences, exhibitions, and technical events while maintaining assigned demonstration instruments and performing routine maintenance.

What You'll Bring

• A university degree in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience working with semiconductor applications, microelectronics, integrated circuit manufacturing, or a closely related field is an advantage.
• Practical experience with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB-SEM) systems, or comparable characterization technologies.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, sample preparation techniques, and failure analysis workflows.
• The ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical application solutions for customers.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence when training technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher to communicate with our customers and colleagues.
• A valid Category B driving license.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
