In this exciting position, you are responsible for the optical engineering part of customer projects in our new ZKW Engineering Office in Olomouc, Czech Republic.

• Optical design and/or simulation using subject-specific simulation, calcu-lation and CAD programs: ZKW internal software (LDS, BEAST), from ex-ternal suppliers (Speos, Lucid-Shape, Zemax, CATIA, …)

• Documentation of own work within the engineering project (simula-tion/test results, customer presentations, …) according to ZKW stand-ards.

• Requesting prototypes for the verification of optical design when re-quired and coordination of the build-up of photometric samples. Verifi-cation & validation of lighting performance of headlamp & optical com-ponents by performing simulations and evaluating and analyzing photo-metric measurements according to internal and customer specifications.

• Trigger measurement and simulation workflows concerning the analysis of lighting components (light laboratory, geometrical measurement, …)

• Supporting or contributing to the development of calculation and simu-lation programs for the development of light components.

• Coordination of lighting topics within responsibility up to the finished product in the context of industrialization.

• Performing concept-work and feasibility studies during RFQ in pre-devel-opment and development projects.

• Alignment and coordination with project teams, customer and supplier on lighting relevant topics.

• Coordinating of and cooperation with external engineering partners as defined by superior.

• Analyzing benchmark samples.

• Support for serial production after 6M-SOP on lighting-related issues.

• Contributing to the development of guidelines regarding tools and methods and supporting their roll-out to other departments and loca-tions.

• Training & mentoring of new employees as defined by superior.

• Management of internal development projects as defined by superior

• Supervision of diploma theses and internships in internal projects as de-fined by superior.

• Participation in COE meetings and contributing to or leading COE Net-works.

•  HTL-, technical college or university degree (technical / scientific field of study such as: mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, electron-ics, communications engineering, mechatronics …)

•  English B2/C1

•  Very good optical basic knowledge

•  Good mathematical knowledge

•  Good knowledge in physics

• Optional: Programming knowledge (preferably C / C ++)
