Role Overview:

For our client, an international provider of MRO procurement and supply chain solutions, we are currently seeking a Technical Buyer to support a major pharmaceutical manufacturing operation in the Moravian-Silesian region.

This is a unique opportunity to become a key member of a growing international organization that is currently establishing its presence in the Czech Republic. You will work directly at the customer's manufacturing site, acting as the primary procurement contact for maintenance teams and warehouse operations while collaborating closely with an international management team. The role offers a high level of autonomy and would suit a buyer with a technical mindset who enjoys supplier management, customer interaction, and hands-on involvement in day-to-day operational procurement.

Key Responsibilites:

• Procure technical spare parts, maintenance materials, and MRO inventory required for production and maintenance activities
• Act as the primary point of contact for site users, maintenance teams, and warehouse personnel
• Convert customer requests and technical requirements into purchase orders and supplier deliveries
• Gather and verify technical specifications required for sourcing activities
• Source and evaluate suppliers to secure the best combination of price, quality, and delivery performance
• Negotiate with local suppliers and build long-term supplier relationships
• Manage purchase orders from creation through delivery
• Coordinate critical inventory levels with customer stakeholders
• Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery (OTD) and other procurement KPIs
• Prepare regular procurement and supplier performance reports
• Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures

What Will You Need To Succeed:

• Experience in technical procurement, MRO purchasing, maintenance purchasing, sourcing, or industrial procurement
• Technical understanding of spare parts, industrial equipment, or maintenance materials
• Knowledge of the local supplier market and industrial supply base
• Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills
• Fluent Czech and English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularlyExcel
• Experience working in a KPI-driven environment

Strong Advantages:

• Previous experience supporting maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or plant operations
• Technical education or industrial background
• Experience with inventory management and warehouse-related processes
• Additional procurement or supply chain qualifications

Additional Information:

• The position is based directly at the customer's manufacturing site.
• Daily activities include interaction with requestors, maintenance personnel, and warehouse teams regarding purchasing requests, delivery timelines, urgent orders, and supplier coordination.
• Regular cooperation with international colleagues through weekly, monthly, and quarterly business review meetings.
• Initial onboarding consists of approximately two weeks of internal training, followed by customer-site training and introduction to local processes.
• Reporting line is international, with direct management based outside the Czech Republic.
