The Data Governance Lead is responsible for establishing and driving enterprise-wide data governance, ensuring that data is managed as a strategic business asset and supports decision-making, digitalisation, reporting and AI initiatives. The role is positioned within Skanska CE, serving the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
Acting as a bridge between business and IT, the Data Governance Lead drives data ownership, quality and adoption across the organisation. In line with The Skanska Way, this role helps turn trusted data into smarter decisions and better outcomes for our business and society.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance & Strategy
- Develop and execute the Data Governance Framework
- Define and coordinate data ownership and stewardship structure
- Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, processes, operating models and the business glossary across the organization
- Support management in setting data-related priorities and strategy
Data Quality & Compliance
- Define and monitor data quality standards and KPIs
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal policies
- Support audit and regulatory requirements related to data management
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a bridge between business and technology stakeholders
- Communicate data concepts clearly to business stakeholders
Coordination & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate Data Governance activities across the organization
- Ensure data governance requirements are embedded in projects and business processes
- Support and continuous improvement of data management practices
- Leading initiatives focused on improving data quality, reliability, consistency and completeness across the whole company
Candidate Profile:
- Experience in Data Governance, Business Intelligence, Business Analysis or Data Management
- Knowledge of reporting, data quality and governance principles
- Knowledge of GDPR and data-related compliance requirements
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational change
- Fluent English is required.
- Understanding of Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Oracle Fusion Cloud and enterprise data environment is advantage
