Senior Process Engineer & Team Leader Manufacturing Engineering

Are you an experienced Process Engineer who thrives on solving complex manufacturing challenges and delivering measurable improvements in performance, quality, and efficiency?

At BAUMANN, we are looking for a Senior Process Engineer & Team Leader Manufacturing Engineering who will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and industrializing manufacturing processes in BAUMAN Strategic Business Field.

As a recognized technical expert, you will drive inovations, support strategic investments, and help shape the future of our manufacturing operations.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will provide guidance to Manufacturing Engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to successfully deliver engineering and industrialization projects.

Your Mission

Your primary mission is to improve manufacturing performance through robust, efficient, and scalable production processes.

You will identify opportunities, solve complex technical problems, implement innovative solutions, and ensure that manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality, productivity, safety, and reliability.

Your Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering & Industrialization

• Lead the development, optimization, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes while providing technical leadership and direction to the Manufacturing Engineering team.
• Lead industrialization activities for new products, technologies, and manufacturing equipment.
• Drive end-to-end process optimization across the entire manufacturing value stream to improve productivity, quality, capacity, process stability, and business performance.
• Drive feasibility studies, process capability analyses, and manufacturing risk assessments through the leadership and coordination of the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring sound engineering decisions and sustainable process performance.
• Support process validation and qualification activities.
• Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team in conducting root cause analyses and implementing sustainable corrective actions to improve process performance and reliability.
• Define and maintain manufacturing standards, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and introduce innovative manufacturing solutions.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as a technical authority and trusted advisor within Manufacturing Engineering.
• Challenge technical solutions (mindset topic)
• Provide day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to a team of Manufacturing Engineers (4 colleagues)
• Lead, support and mentor Manufacturing Engineers in solving complex technical challenges.
• Contribute to engineering strategy and best-practice implementation across the organization.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Process Engineer who leads by example, stays close to the manufacturing floor, and consistently translates technical expertise into measurable business results.

Most importantly, you can demonstrate:

• Reach Process stability
• Led and developed team of engineers
• Improved manufacturing productivity, OEE, or process efficiency
• Reduced scrap, waste, or quality costs
• Increased process capability and production stability
• Successfully industrialized new products, technologies, or manufacturing equipment
• Delivered sustainable improvements with measurable business impact

Your Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with the persistence to identify root causes, overcome obstacles, and deliver sustainable solutions.
• Strong expertise in:

• Root Cause Analysis
• Statistical Process Control
• Lean Manufacturing
• Continuous Improvement
• Process Validation
• PFMEA and Risk Analysis
• Industrialization of New Products and Processes

• Leadership experience and skillset.
• Broad technical understanding.
• Fluent English.

Counted as a „plus experience“

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• CAPEX project experience.
• Automation or Industry 4.0 experience.
• SAP knowledge.
• International manufacturing experience.
