Accountant / Senior Accounting Specialist

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our Finance team and play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance and continuous process improvement.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with the Accounting Manager and wider Finance team, you'll support the delivery of accurate and timely accounting operations across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions
• Collaborating closely with Accounting and Controlling colleagues to maintain high-quality financial reporting
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
• Communicating with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting-related matters
• Liaising with auditors, tax advisors and regulatory authorities as required
• Working cross-functionally with colleagues across the business
• Identifying opportunities to improve, automate and digitalise accounting processes

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a proactive and improvement-focused mindset.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience in a corporate accounting environment
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accounting principles and VAT requirements
• Knowledge of relevant accounting and tax regulations
• German language skills at a communicative level (minimum B2)
• English language skills sufficient for day-to-day business communication, particularly written communication
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, especially during busy reporting periods
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
• Experience working with ERP systems or the ability to learn new accounting systems quickly
• A genuine interest in improving processes through automation and digitalisation
• It would be great if you also have
• Experience working within an international organisation
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Exposure to financial reporting and/or controlling activities
• An interest in the animal health sector and a passion for working in a business connected to animals
