Packaging Project Leader - Tatra Trucks

Job purpose
We are looking for a Packaging Project Leader to support our customer in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of its packaging processes.
The role will be the main on-site interface for packaging-related activities, working closely with the customer's logistics, production, quality and purchasing teams, as well as with internal engineering resources.
The Packaging Project Leader will analyze current packaging and material flows, identify improvement opportunities and coordinate the development of practical packaging solutions aimed at improving efficiency, ergonomics, quality and logistics performance.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze existing material flows, packaging flows and storage areas to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Define and optimize packaging concepts, standards and processes according to operational requirements.
- Coordinate packaging improvement projects from initial analysis through implementation.
- Work closely with internal and external engineering teams to develop: 3D packaging concepts and design, packaging specifications and drawings, transport and packaging plans, storage and handling solutions
- Coordinate activities between logistics, production, quality, ergonomics and engineering teams.
- Ensure that proposed packaging solutions meet requirements related to: product protection and quality, ergonomics and operator safety, handling and storage, transport efficiency, space utilization, cost and operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities to reduce packaging, handling, storage and transport costs.
- Support trials, validation and implementation of new packaging solutions on the shop floor.
- Monitor the performance of implemented solutions and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare analyses, recommendations, project documentation and presentations for the customer.
- Act as the customer's packaging focal point, coordinating priorities, actions and stakeholders.
Required profile
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical education, preferably in logistics, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or packaging.
- Experience in packaging, logistics engineering, material flow or manufacturing environments.
- Good understanding of industrial logistics and production processes.
- Experience with packaging development or packaging optimization is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze flows and translate operational requirements into practical solutions.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary activities and external/internal engineering resources.
- Good understanding of 3D CAD / technical drawings; experience with packaging design tools is an advantage.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Structured, analytical and solution-oriented approach.
- Comfortable working directly with customer teams and on the shop floor.
- English required; Slovak/Czech is an advantage.
